need. bed. NOW!
need. bed. NOW!
phenomenal dinner the other night @ sierra grille - http://beeradvocate.com/events/info/20902
the menu. click to enlarge.. you’ll definitely want to read this!
i wish i took a picture of the appetizer course, the slider, because it was my favorite. the swamp chili was pretty damn good too. but here’s a shot of the elk wellington w/ pumpkin mole..
the entree. by the time this came out i was so stuffed full of food that i just took a bite or two of each and had it wrapped to go. made an uber tasty lunch yesterday.
the chocolate "moose" made w/ emu eggs, elephant ear cookie and oak aged espresso yeti infused whipped cream. i’m not usually a dessert person, and i’m especially not a mousse person, but this was fucking delicious. the elephant ear definitely did the trick.
and a shot of our wonderful host, the proprietor of sierra grille, obrien. w/ an emu egg shell.
last night’s dinner: gouda and prosciutto borsetti tossed with pesto chicken sausage, peas, garlic, toasted pine nuts, greens and diced tomatoes. with a shaving of fresh parm to top it all off.
and tonight’s dinner: hot italian chicken sausage grinder with sauteed peppers and onions, sauce and mozzarella cheese. gingered red cabbage on the side (cooked w/ onions, garlic, granny smith apples, ginger, cinnamon sticks, pepper, kale and a mixture of blueberry wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar and red wine vinegar). yum!
a bit of a goofy shot, but i still like it. sunday was my dad’s birthday so my fabulous sister cooked up an amazing meal and my other awesome sister baked an apple pie and we did the family dinner thing. unfortunately i did not partake in the consuming of the tasties due to brunch at the armsby abbey beforehand and the game and beer dinner at the sierra grille to look forward to, but at least i got to spend a bit of time with my old man on his birthday. many thanks to jessie for putting together the whole thing!
@ sierra grille for the big game and big beer dinner. yum!
brunching @ the armsby abbey.. enjoying a mayflower thanksgiving ale!
finally feeling better!! heading out to eastern ma to hang with heather and jon!
wishing the incessant tickle in my throat would go the fuck away!!
highly disappointed with my immune system right now. i barely have a voice. 8(
the show in worcester on sunday night was fucking amazing! little did i know when i bought presale tickets that we were getting vip/fanclub/whatever the fuck you want to call them tickets, which meant that we got to go in the special fanclub doors and we got let into the venue about an hour before everyone else. we had floor tickets so we piled in with all the other uber fans and placed ourselves in the center about 6 people away from the stage. this was pretty sweet, until trent came on stage. as soon as the lights turned out and he became visible, the crowd went wild and did the "let’s shove people as hard as possible to bumrush the stage" thing. i seriously thought i was going to get trampled and die. it has been years since i went to a show like this and spent any amount of time down on the floor with the mob and i must admit, i almost forgot what it was like and i wasn’t expecting it to be quite as crazy as it was. i used to do this shit all the time.. it was like my life’s mission as a teenager to make it to shows of my favorite bands and get all sweaty and violent in a mosh pit. it’s not so much my favorite thing anymore. ;) although, after the first couple songs the shoving/trampling died down a bit and the moshing and jumping around only started back up again during certain songs. despite the fact that i was incredibly tired, my adrenaline kicked in and the energy all around seemed to seep into my muscles. i was just a number of feet away from trent the entire time and it made me so damn happy just to look up at him. the music, the energy, the light/video show, the crowd, the trent.. it was all just an overwhelming experience. at one point peter murphy from bauhaus came out on stage to perform reptile and it was fucking awesome! i came home w/ just a few bruises and some sore muscles.. not bad for such a fucking spectacular experience! i think i may have even caught a couple shots of the stage on my iphone. i’ll have to check them out and post if they’re decent.
