last night we did cod loins sauteed with okra, tomatoes, onions, garlic and lots of typical indian spices, with curry couscous on the side. num!
my mouth is still pretty sore. yesterday morning was the first session of getting a crown at the dentist. my back left lower molar had a crack in it. while it wasn’t fully cracked or painful, it was inevitable that at some point in my life that weakness in my tooth would cause me lots of pain, so i took the preventative step suggested by the dentist to just fix it now. lots of $$, but this will save me money and pain in the future. they shot me full of novacaine and, while i did get somewhat numb, i could still feel pain from the drill, so i ended up being given two extra large shots before he could drill without my nerves freaking out. they gave me so much novacaine that my ear was numb, and my mouth, tongue and face were only completely un-numbed by evening. so my jaw is sore from the shooting up, and the gumline around the specific tooth is sore. right now i’ve got a temporary plastic-like cap on my tooth. i go back in 3 weeks to get the porcelain crown fixated.
tomorrow i’ll be spending all day at mt holyoke college for some training on the server-side of the new cms we’re using. i hope it’s at least somewhat helpful and productive. afterward i head over to the hospital to meet baby joe and give hugs to the happy new parents.
